TikTok has led me to discover so many random facts, techniques, and products, and of course this artist popped up and started a new obsession. His videos are mostly of him on Omegle, in front of a piano, chatting with strangers, then asking them, “Hey, can I play you a part of my new song?” The moment his fingers touch the keyboard is the moment these strangers’ jaws drop. His name is Ethan Bortnick, which . . . I don’t know . . . his name feels so underwhelming compared to the layers in his classical leaning, but incredibly modern songs. Whatever.
